MCTOMINAY'S ATTACKING PROWESS COMES FROM HIS ACADEMY DAYS

Scott McTominay's ability to play higher up the pitch has been a trending topic since his cameo performance against Brentford, the Scotsman scored a brace deep into injury time to win the game for the Red Devils.


Scott McTominay revealed after the game that he did player as a striker occasionally under Warren Joyce during his academy days. McTominay scored three goals in the Premier League 2 before being called up to the first team in the 2016/17 season.


Brentford were leading United 1-0 until the fourth minute of injury time when McTominay seemed to salvage a point with the equaliser, three minutes later the midfielder was their again to snatch all three points for his side.


The Bees narrowly missed out on handing United their third consecutive home defeat after Galatasaray and Crystal Palace beat them in the Champions League and Premier League respectively.
