Everton manager Sean Dyche was "baffled" after his sides 2-0 defeat in the Merseyside Derby, the game was filled with controversy as Ibrahim Konate was not red carded despite a harsh challenge whilst on a yellow card.

Frustrations grew for Dyche in the Merseyside Derby due to a "lack of consistency" as Jordan Pickford described it. Ashley Young was dismissed, leaving Everton at a numerical disadvantage for the majority of the game.

When Liverpool defender Konate made a rash tackle whilst on a yellow, referee Craig Pawson didn't send the Frenchman off. Dyche said it was "almost impossible" to think Konate's foul wasn't red card worthy. He also said "I think there were lots of bad decisions in the game for both sides".

Everton were defeated 2-0 in the end, Mohamed Salah got both goals to win the derby, the opener was from the penalty spot, the second came from open play as the Toffees got caught on the counter.
