COLE PALMER: SHINING BRIGHT DESPITE BRENTFORD DEFEAT

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino had praise for just one of his players after Brentford beat the Blues 2-0 for the third consecutive time at Stamford Bridge. 


That player was summer signing Cole Palmer, the £45m man has won over Chelsea fans after lots of positive performances since joining from Manchester City. On Saturday afternoon it was no different, Palmer created four chances for his teammates, but they weren’t unable to turn them into goals.  


Palmer has got two goals and two assists for Chelsea so far across all competitions and despite his side not getting a positive result against the Bees, he was a spark going forward throughout the match. 


Mauricio Pochettino said after he game: “he’s showing a great performance, character and personality”. Bryan Mbeumo and Ethan Pinnock combined to see off the Blues, lifting Brentford into the top half of the table with 13 points on the board.
